iTools Tech Talk
Since iTools version 3.2 was released, the team at iTools have been working on improvements for clients.
Some of the new features you can expect to see in 2006 include:
1. A New Reports Tab - all dashboards
The process to create and release new reports has been improved, making it easier and faster for us to provide new reports to customers. Reports are now accessible by a tab on all dashboards.
2. Work List Tab - Personal Dashboard
The Work List Tab displays the financial tasks and related projected hours of work assigned to individuals for a selected period. This tab is located on the Personal Dashboard. It allows people to see the initial and current time estimates for specific tasks for say, the coming week in one view. For example, a contractor may be contracted for 20 hours a week, but through their Work List view, find he has 40 hours of assigned work. It allows for the person to better manage their time and work commitments.
3. Work List Report
Expanding on the above individual work lists, this work list report allows project managers and team leaders to view the estimated and actual amount of time allocated for a financial task, by project team members on a project. The work list report will be available on the Personal dashboard Reports menu for roles that are determined by your company.
4. Linked Register Report
The Linked Register Report allows you to create reports with parent tasks that show their linked or child tasks across all workflows. The sorting criteria is based on the parent task e.g. if you select one workflow type then all parent actions will display. All linked actions to the parent tasks will also display underneath, regardless of the workflow.
You can run the Linked Register Reports to see, for example, what outstanding tasks need to be completed to achieve a parent task - and you can do this without the need to go into other reports. The Linked Register Reports are located in the Register Reports section on the Reports tab of each Dashboard.
