Tooling up with the latest version 3.2

iTools Control Version 3.2 was released in July this year, much to the joy of iTools’ customers. Version 3.2 builds on what clients have said they wanted more of: increased flexibility in status reporting; more online help and more features. Version 3. 2 was released to iTools clients in Australia and New Zealand.

Its exciting new features include:

Freeze framing status reports: the new version allows people to freeze frame or snapshot status reports at a particular point in time. Instead of updates overwriting historical records, status reports can be recorded at a specific date, providing over time, a true record of what went on over the life of a project.

Customised reporting feature: you can now configure status reports for different audiences. For example, you can set up a default report including financials for the CFO, and then another minus financials for other people. Different people can see different reports eg, senior managers often only want to see the vital stats, not the detail behind them, and this feature allows for customised reporting to do just that.

Reports menu: a new reports menu in the personal dashboard provides quick and easy access to the list of executive and status reports available.

The new online help menu is helping iTools’ users everywhere. Rather than picking up the phone for technical support, people can now go online for everything they need to know – from the how to section on things like ‘how to write a status report’ following a simple step-by-step wizard to FAQs on things like ‘how do I customise my personal dashboard?’ or ‘how to raise a project risk?’ It’s all here in the one-stop-shop online help desk.

Another new feature is the cc project actions feature. Many project managers or users assigning a task or action to another team member want to copy in a relevant person for their information, whether it be the project sponsor or someone from another department. This new feature now allows for other people to be cc’d on project actions and tasks.
